I’ve been in the furniture business since middle school having spent my summers as a volunteer worker at my father’s factory in Los Angeles. I learned the meaning of an honest day’s work in the industry by loading trucks, sweeping the docks and the factory floor in the hot LA summers.During lunch, I was allowed to come into the office and hang out with my dad in the air conditioned office and it was always fun to hear him interact with his reps that stopped by….Some of them are still in the biz today. I looked at those guys with their new Porsches, sharp clothes and country club tans and thought I could do that too.Later in college, I worked on the floor for one of my father’s customer’s in San Diego and realized I could sell. Feeding my entrepreneurial spirit, I opened my own store and then another, cornering the then lucrative RTA market selling computer desks and entertainment centers until I found some experienced partners and opened the third Ashley HomeStore in CA.After a few years, Ashley decided they wanted the entire state and bought our stores, which brought on the opportunity to finally have a chance to be a rep.The timing was right at AICO asthey were looking for someone in the area and I joined their team. I was there for ten years and was awarded several accolades including the coveted Rep of the Year. When my time at Aico ran it’s course, I became a multi line rep which brought the privilege of having my hands in lots of different categories such as sourcing, warranties and accessories. It’s been a lot of fun to work on unique projects as I continually endeavor to add value to my customer’s business.I have been on the Executive Committee since 2016 and have the distinction as the longest serving chairman in the history of IHFRA.
