MELROSE PARK, Pa. – Longtime furniture industry sales representative Raymond “Ray” A. Isser has died at the age of 71.

A past president (2006) of IHFRA, Ray continued to be active and passionate about the health of the association. He was always available to answer questions or suggest ideas that would support IHFRA and its members.

In 2018, Isser was awarded the Legacy Rep award for members who have been in the industry as sales representatives for more than 30 years and are still on the road. In 2011, the organization bestowed its highest honor – the Harold P. Braun Distinguished Service Award – on Isser.

Isser was also active in the Tri-State Chapter of IHFRA since 1978 and held a number of leadership roles, including president and chairman. Isser was also recognized by his peers with the Rudy Steltemeir Award in 2010 and had been inducted into the Tri-State Home Furnishings Association’s Hall of Fame.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Isser’s memory may be made to Columbia University, Isser’s alma mater, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
